One of the aims of the PLANAFFHO project is to contribute to the theoretical and methodological advancement of international comparatvie research on housing and land-use planning.
The paper and presentation for the Bremen conference focused on ideal-types, and highlighted the fact that ideology plays a crucial role in explaining the differences between welfare, housing, and planning policy and outcomes. It showed how international comparative analysis can advance the understanding of the dynamic relationships between the different variables in different geographical settings.
