A short paper by Hannah Holmes and Dr Gemma Burgess looked at the early impact of the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown on digitally excluded families.

CCHPR's long term evaluation of the New Horizons programme has already drawn attention to the fact that digital exclusion is not simply a generational issue but another facet of the inequalities that run through the social fabric of the UK. The current public health crisis and ensuing lockdown measures have disproportionately impacted those who lack basic digital skills and those households who are unable to afford the cost of home internet access.

The article looks at the complex challenges facing families and individuals at a time when being able to access the internet is crucial for life to retain some semblance of 'normality'.
