Cambridge Centre for Housing & Planning Research

CCHPR worked in a multi-disciplinary team with others across the university to carry out this piece of research looking at sustainable development in the Kent Thames Gateway.

This research is in two phases. As part of the first phase, a number of 5,000 word papers were commissioned from a range of researchers across Engineering, Architecture and Land Economy. Following a seminar at which the findings were presented, researchers were asked to submit topics for further work. A further one day workshop explored the two topics selected by Land Securities, Testing the Master Plan (undertaken by a team led by Koen Steemers in Architecture) and Resilience, undertaken by the Land Economy team. The outputs will be used as the basis for a range of further projects by Land Securities.
