David Cowans is the former Group Chief Executive of Places for People, one of the largest property management and development companies in the UK. David has over 30 years’ experience of housing, urban regeneration, mixed-tenure and mixed-use development, property management and financial management, and of leading strategic change in large and small organisations.
David is a Fellow of the Institute of Housing, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Chartered Director of the Institute of Directors and has an MBA from Birmingham University. He is also an Academician of The Academy of Urbanism and, for 2019/20, a Policy Fellow at the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence.
