Senior Teaching Associate in Planning, Growth and Urban Regeneration


Dr Stefania Fiorentino's research focusses on ways to reconcile planning practices and local economic development for more inclusive and resilient regeneration strategies. Before joining the Department of Land Economy, she has lectured and led research in spatial planning, local economic development and urban regeneration with both the Bartlett School of Planning (UCL) and London South Bank University (LSBU). 

Stefania holds a PhD in Planning from the Bartlett, where she is a visiting lecturer. Her active research projects are looking at flexible office spaces, coastal town regeneration, and urban densification processes. Her work has been published on a number of international journals, she serves as reviewer of several journals and she is editor for Local Economy and Regions, the e-zine of Regional Studies Association.

Dr Fiorentino initially trained as a chartered engineer and has worked in international consultancies across Italy, France and the UK providing expertise in the fields of real estate, planning and economic development.

She is the representative member for the EU COST Action: "The Geography of New Working Spaces and the Impact on the Periphery".
