Biography
A human geographer by background, Dr Sabina Maslova's research interests include migrant housing, professional migration, housing decision-making, expatriates, residential mobility, and transnational work.
She holds a PhD (cum laude) in Urban Studies from Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI) jointly awarded with Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies (Italy). Her research project focused on the high-skilled transnational professional migrants and housing choices in the destination cities. Particularly, she investigated the socio-spatial organization of the ‘middling’ group of transnational migrants in Moscow and London, examining spatialities and housing practices.
Sabina has a BSc (Hons) and MSc (Hons) in Human, Social and Economic Geography from Lomonosov Moscow State University and completed a PGRP in Urban Studies at the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design (Russia). She also has extensive experience outside academia, having worked on various consulting and research projects in the field of planning and urban development.
