Our webinar for the construction industry on Strategies for tackling barriers to adopting offsite manufacturing and digital technologies for project delivery was held on 10 December 2020, 13:30 to 15:00 GMT.

Construction firms face a range of barriers in adopting and using digital technologies (e.g. BIM) and offsite manufacturing (OSM). The webinar will showcase research findings and real-life examples, providing insights about these barriers and highlighting key factors that can enable firms to successfully adopt and use digital and manufacturing innovation across the construction process.

As well as research updates from Kwadwo Oti-Sarpong and Rey Shojaei, invited industry speakers, Dan Oliver from Willmott Dixon and Andy Boutle from Kier, shared their experiences of using a wide range of digital technologies and OSM, with lessons as to what worked and what could have been improved. The presentations are available to download below.

Dan Oliver, a Digital Engineer at Willmott Dixon, shared a video at the webinar which shows the story of how cutting-edge digital and manufacturing construction technologies were used to ensure high quality in the complex build of a 730-piece glazed crystal at the University of Birmingham, UK.
