The presentation discussed the policies and practices of land-use planning in Portugal and England, looking at two contrasting planning systems. It looked at problematisation of the effects of land-use planning on housing outcomes in Portugal and at an emphasis on the limitation of supply and the relevance of land-use planning mechanisms as support for the provision of affordable housing in England.
